Recent auction, 43" necklace of 76 beads went for $360 + 22% buyer's premium = $440. Adding another $50 for pickup and shipping, equals about $6.50 per bead.

Guessing the bidders believe them to be silver, not silver plate? I have a bagful of unused similar beads made with twisted wires acquired c2000 at one of the Tucson shows, and their surface wires do test as silver with test fluid. The enamels appear to be the translucent colors typically used for silver.

Thoughts, anyone?
