Thank you so much , Of course now I have got it out the bag and extended it properly I can see it is a long lariat type necklace with a tassel on the end. I was so fixated that they were African beads (as have alot more of those which will post presently)
It measures 26 1/2 " long. Having searched again using Venetian as a keyword have found similar that are melon millefiori. Feeling very relieved that I didn't cut it up for the beads !!! cheers again.

The original context of the beads as an intact Liberty necklace states their time frame like nothing else would. It's a shame when these threads get old and break, and more of a shame when someone snips them up before that happens...

The ebay melon beads are decorated with rosetta cane slices with a 5-point star as the center, and the beads posted by linzib have what is known as a brecciated core which was molded using a 7-lobe "floral" mold.

Hi there, the green bubbly rounds are glass I am pretty sure -not any kind of stone or gem - the bubbles are what makes me think that. There are some loose beads including one that is 3/4 " diameter and some still knotted on a green string that are 15" long doubled. Design doesn't seem to have been a straight round necklace as knotting divides so maybe a lariat? Some beads have darker inclusions and most have bubbles.
The crinkly green beads seem very old and possibly stone or ceramic . they have hole running through them so are deffo beads despite appearance. The beads that were with those, the round are also stone or ceramic I think, old and misshapen and covered in dirt so wondering if they have been dug up. All the beads on that pic have been stored together although vastly different in era and style so not sure if any significance to that grouping or not!
Thank you for any help :)

Green "crinkly" beads most likely ancient Egyptian faience. They are stylized Eye of Horus
beads. Terry

I sometimes it is really freaky how much the forum members know about all sorts of beads...Terry, your identification of these is truly amazing & impressive!

Second photo, the detailed beads were made to resemble Italian micro mosaic tesserae like seen in brooches.

thank you- any idea of poss age or era? They looked to me like the colour changing ones from 60's but must be older than that due to who they belonged to and when?
