My friend's great grandmother traveled quite a bit. These beads have been rattling around her family for as long as anyone can remember.
A hand written note suggests that the stone hoops are ancient carnelian earrings. Hardware has been attached to them to make them work in the necklace.
When might the faience beads have been made?
The findings look like tourist items.
The necklace is strung on silk which is now quite fragile.

as i notice relatively recent fastener pieces at the ends its most likely the beads which appear ancient were gathered and then put together in a collar-like design layout.
it seems to have been done quite a lot when Egyptian treasures first became popular, around the 1920s.
the long beads appear to be on wires or eye pins with a loop at either end that allows this arrangement. Does the wire look old?
Surviving ancient textiles beadwork and strands would have been on linen.

those earrings are an interesting addition!

wire pieces, clasp and earring mounts seem to be about the same age.

Dear Lindabd,
These are not earrings. They are hair decorations, most probably from a wig.
You see, most upper class Egyptian's had wigs because of lice.
All the best,
Yankee
P.S these are jasper not carnelian.

Thank you so much! Hair decorations!
I told my friend that I thought they were jasper too. I'll send your response along to her.
Do you think that the faience beads are old?
Cheers!
