I guess I saw it more often and have shown it to many people, as long as it was available. Then I wanted to show it to others, but it was gone and nowhere to find. I´m glad, I can now give a link again to friends. Thanks again for making it possible!

First they said Chevrons come from Egypt. That was wrong! Then we learned that Chevrons come from Italy. That turned out to be a lie too! Finally we know that Chevrons come from one place and one place only - USA. ... the "UNITED STATES OF ART"
PS
All 10 points for your work from Germany, Art! I am a big fan of your classic Chevrons! Their precision and your choice of color(s) are more than enough for me to love them. As technically demanding and as beautiful your Chevrons 2.0 are - I personally prefer your textbook designs, especially as donut shaped discs with one transparent color (orange and green especially). When worn those pieces fully display their unique design, your precision of work and the colors chosen!

Art,
It is my pleasure and I am very happy that as long as I have my website this video will be available for people to see and share. You are the best and I am blessed to be able to call you a close friend. Hope you make it to Tucson this year as we truly missed your smiling face last year. We love you Danny and Suzi

Art - I own a medium-sized (old) Italien Chevron with 13 layers as well. When I find it, I'll post a picture. I never thought that many layers were difficult to make, until I heard you saying that it was difficult indeed. Seems the Italians have been able to do that too. Question:
Do you fire-polish your beads after the grinding process? Or do you get this smooth shine from grinding or "mechnical polishing" alone, if these are the right terms to describe the process?

All my polished beads are done with cold work, I use diamond lapidary belts for the finish. I would be very interested to see an italian 13 layer

I will check and post, if I find it in my actual mess! I DEFINITELY know I have it - as soon as I find it, you see it. Maybe in Tucson? To be clear: I know (for sure) this bead has more than 10 layers. I believe I remember 13 layers, but could be 12, 14 or even 15 also!
SERIOUSLY!

Sounds like a myth to me, I will be happy to believe otherwise when I see a closeup photo of the bead ;-)

Why should I "saymore", Mister Seymour...? Yes, I repeat, a classic Italian Chevron with that many layeres. I recall 13 layers, but maybe just 12, though it could also have 14 changing colors/layers inside out! The bead I am refering to is DEFINITELY Italian, definitely old and certainly (somewhere) in my possession. As soon as I find it - in an actual mess, I must repeat - I post a photo. It is not a huge piece and the condition is not prestine. The outer layer is blue! Not a piece from the earliest times around 1475-1600, but certainly not a new one. As a guess I would say it has been made between ~1880-1920. You can have the bead, if it means something to you as a specimen of proof or reference! I`ll bring it with me to Tucson, but will post a photo, should I find it before!

Thank you, thank you Danny for making this possible and Art for making a great chevron documentary. Just the other day I told a friend it was a pity I could not show her the 'Solo performance'. I should say wishes more out loud, they seem to come true!

Actually, after a couple of years absence, it's been back on YouTube for a couple of years again - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0MIsc8bP-M But it's great that it's copied for permanent access! It is a most inspiring document of the master at work.
