Chinese Chevrons

It is believed that chevron beads imitating Venetian chevron trade beads are now being produced by three or more manufacturers in China. Our African importer had his second order cancelled by the first African importer mentioned, who was trying to ensure an exclusive that may have been promised or implied by the Chinese manufacturer in late 2006.

Here are some of the strands offered at African Village during the Tucson shows, 2007:

Chinese chevron cane was available at the Electric Park Tucson show for 55.00 per kilo. As far as we know, this is the first time that Chinese cane of this variety has been offered to a U.S. market.
