Hi One of my customers has the opportunity to buy these beads. I know nothing about them...do you?

they are approx 17mm, with a 3- 4mm hole. The have the weight of clay.

These beads also appear on the Miriam Haskell-style "oriental" necklaces believed to be from around the 1930s [attached link]

The "composition" beads appear in this necklace discussed in the linked thread, which also contains glass beads attributed as Japanese. Note the pale yellow bead with white/red/green crumb decoration - it also shows up in a collection of Japanese beads that tedd recently sold from his mother's estate.

I'd missed the top image - the 2 beads lower left, olive green w/ red splotch...I have had a couple of these in my pile for years and always wondered!

Olive green, eh? I thought they were yellow, and wondered if the original intent of the rusty red dots was to imitate hornbill beads.

Likely not Japanese at all, but Chinese, according to page 62 of Collectible Beads.
