wonderful set of 24 "Gubbio and Deruta" maiolica glazed motto beads-
not the largest size and probably not the really old ones, but nevertheless-
the necklace is threaded on foxtail chain which is in perfect condition,
and the mottoes are:
Lux lucem
Ad sidera
Ex animo
Veni vidi vici
Unica bella
Alta petas
Spes mea
Firma fides
Multa paucis
Pupula mea
Vivamus
A remotis
and i hope the label is readable!

Maybe someone here from Boston, Mass. knows who the fashion design tutor was?

...and stringing on fox chain was very popular at that time. I'd suggest these were strung like this in the 1930's

yes -but the chain is pristine and appears new, no tarnish whatever, so someone has "put things together". having taken a clear image of it as found, i dont feel i'll be destroying anything irreplaceable if i take it apart...

Fair enough - you can see the object - which is (in this case) better than a picture painting a 1000 words!

(PS - fabulous beads - I'm very envious!)
