...for the bead swap this will be a 2.2mm cut off from one bead. Please let me know, if you want it more from the middle or the end of the bead...:-)

I'm pretty sure I've seen these beads a few times, but only one at a time on very very expensive strands.

Maybe I'll get lucky and find some of those in my price range some day. You never know what's sitting in old jewelry boxes left to unappreciative heirs.

Since we're on the subject of pineapples - do these qualify as pineapple beads? Please look at the funky yellow elbows and the black rounds. Any other thoughts on their age, provenance, rarity? By the way, I loved the white and (especially) the red ones. Incidentally, in Ghana, I've seen newly made Krobo pink ones, created to imitate the original pink and yellow version. thanks!

I was looking just this morning at my one and only example of the tubular yellow elbows you show. The trailings are fully flush with the base glass, so it is different than the white pineapples in that regard, not raised slightly above the base glass. To me, the yellows seem newer production, but I would like to learn more too since I don't know. I know some reproduction 'pineapples' have been made by T&T, pink and black, probably from India.

I think most people would think of a "pineapple" bead as more barrel shaped, or slightly more like that of a pineapple.

I bought these 3 days ago, they were on a strand that was sourced in Mali. A random bead measures 17.8mm in length.

They are beauties! In the bright backlit sunlight, up close, might they possibly be deep translucent teal/emerald green? I've seen the green, but I don't think I've seen opaque black.

I looked at them under magnification with a bright light and they do have a teal tint to them. The color is so dark I would have sworn they were black. thank you Joyce
