I bought this first necklace on the market of Maroua in north Cameroon: it was undoubtedly wear, you can see the thread and the beads are dirty of soil. But I don't know from where come these beads. They were not very common on the market, they don't seem very old. I don't think they are venetian or Czech or else (India, China....). What do you think about its, please?

the second necklace was not directly wear, but the beads were used. We can think it is fake coral beads? I don't know what it is. What do you think about it too?

yes! it's a rather long time to become dirty!!!The only interest that they were used by a woman somewhere! I think, with this soil, it becomes, maybe, from Namibia.....worn by a Himba woman!!!

These are Czech Prosser beads, indeed made to resemble coral. They used to be made in the Redlhammer factory in Jablonec. These pictures show two different strands of Czech coral lookalike beads, one is like yours. Second picture is where I found them: in the garden of the apartment in Jablonec we were staying at.

The pictures above are Czech Prosser beads. Yours were French Prosser beads, made in Briare. I dug them from a massive dumpsite near the old factory.

Ah! yes, interesting, it's completely possible. But are they from beginning 20th (1930/50)? I think so, I don't know if we make always beads in Briare.
