Ancient Excavated Glass Beads from Northern Scotland

From excavations at the Orkney Islands in Northern Scotland—this exposition of ancient glass beads, probably made from imorted Western Asian glass.

At first I said to myself, "these look like 20th C. German ring beads." However, then I realized they are 2 to 2.5 mm in diameter. So, not the same things at all.

Interesting beads! Are the white rings supposed to be layers?

The white rings are light or flash reflections.
