Hi All, I hope you are all well wherever you are! I found these super cool mother of pearl pieces in a bag at a second hand market. I have restrung them but I was wondering if anyone had an idea of the era they might be from? I found a similar shaped one on etsy which says it was from the 70's but this one is so much finer, I thought it might be earlier. As always any help is greatly received.

this kind of all-over mosaic of M. O. P. shell pieces securely stuck onto a shaped backing of darker shell or plastic and beautifully polished is very characteristic of the jewellery components produced in the Philippines from natural materials in around 70/80s onwards and the value doesn't depend on the age -its a craft they mastered well, and some of the design ideas may have been adapted subsequently by the chinese costume jewellery industry.

Thankyou Stephany for the info. The prices are super well made and are mop all the way round and really shimmery.
Thanks again
