Interesting Chinese court necklace box on eBay; item number 264496878629. Approximate Size: 20 cm x 6.2 cm. Carved red lacquered wood (?) with gilding or gold leaf. Can anyone suggest reference materials regarding these boxes? Thanks!

I can only say I have seen similar boxes for Court Necklaces previously.

at $980.00 US. I found a second box, with little of its original gold leaf (or gilding) for 10 times this amount; the seller is asking US $9,795.00 or $409 for 24 months (on a payment plan).
