Hi everyone
This is a Nanhong (south red) agate bead of Dian culture from yunnan province southwest china. It¡¦s natural pattern makes it like a piece of mutton roll.
If you ever been to Beijing and tried the very traditional instant boiled mutton you would know what I mean.
Enjoy
R.M.
Ps any forumee going to be in the coming Asian week in NY please mail me thanks

This is essentially the same agate (source) as pema raka beads - Yunnan.

I have documented some carved Chinese Ming Dynasty pendants, also made from this pink agate. JDA.

But there¡¦s some slight differences in the material itself of pema raka beads from different periods of time since it has been used for beads for over two thousand years from 200 BCE till now
