Hi All me again... I was wondering if the addition of the aventurine stripe to the beads makes them more or less desirable, collectable or rarer? I'm guessing 1950's?

What do my learned friends think?

I suppose this is a matter of taste and preference. I don't think they're worth more.

Beads with aventurine are less common than others

Venetian beads with aventurine decoration are more rare than those without - but I guess it's one of those corners of bead collecting that is up to the collector as to how valuable and/or desirable they are.

There is a nice chapter on the history of aventurine glass (aka goldstone) in the The Glory of Beads - see details on the Classified page.
