Can anyone help me with these beads???
I know they are called "Buddha beads"
But are these old ? or do they make them to look old.
How are they used ? and when ?
I had seen these at a market. There were obvious new ones that were brown and round w/gold foil pieces on them.
But the seller said these were old.....
They were real cheep so I picked up a few.
What can you guy's tell me about these things.

They are about 1.5" long and just over 1/2" dia

So now and then I have seen these beads, but smaller in size, length x diam = 10x10mm and not so clear stamped as your beads. The pointed crown of the Buddha looks Thais to me. Originally they were made by monks in monasteries from a paste and made into rosaries.
Looking at the colour and appearance I think yours are recently made for the tourist market
Thanx for showing them
