Gabriel, you have these beads in your hand, can you see how the Morfia fragments were inserted in this bead?? Actually, in the pictures, they appear to be very crudely done! Can you see any glue or anything else?

No glue is visible but there is no apparent fusion between the inserts and the base. If you think that this bead may be a fake made with ancient materials you are probably right.

Than you Jamey for your opinion. I totaly agree but I think that this sort of recycling with ancient materials may be described as a forgery.

Hmmm, I myself would not automatically call it forgery - that depends entirely upon how the item is represented. If a seller presented them to me as...."Look at these new beads made with old morfia fragments" - fine.

But, it seems that items will frequently be represented as other than they are.
