Hello everyone,

For those interested in the cultural aspects of beads and do not have access to BEADS: Journal of the Society of Bead Researchers, I am happy to inform you that the articles in Volumes 1-5 have been uploaded to the academia.edu website. More will follow in the coming year. I believe you have to be registered with academia.edu to access articles on the site, but it is free and only takes a few minutes. Once in, just search for Karlis Karklins and you will be presented with a list of all the uploaded journal articles as well as a few other bead studies by myself and others. If you have never visited academia.edu before, it is veritable treasure trove of articles on beads and just about anything else you can think of. Check it out.

Happy reading and learning!

Karlis

Thank you, Deborah, for the link.

Just want to add some information about this site - I could not register unless I allowed the site to collect all my personal information from my Facebook site.

I could not indicate that I didn't have a FB site and continue. The site found my FB account and proceeded to open an account for me, even though I bailed out of the sequence at that point. Since I object to apps that want to siphon off this type of information about my contacts, etc. I deleted my account and sent a complaint to the site about their gross invasion of privacy.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. I tried to do what Rosanna did too: sign up without using my Facebook or google account. So I did, only to then find that they had connected to my google account. I could see this, because they used my profile pic. Think it is probably a mix between the settings on my browser (chrome) and the choices made by this site.

To me, that is not a problem, but it is something to be aware of.
