Old European glass beads... I don't have any ovals but you can post on the trade board for "wanted" items.

Here are some that I got from an old Mountain Man. They are somewhat larger than yours pictured and more of the "greasy yellow" consistency, yours appear to be more dense, like the ones I posted on Carlene's strand. I probably mis-used the term "greasy yellow" on those previously posted, if so please forgive me.
I'd still call them old wound European glass beads though, either version. I strung these with some Venetian tabulars I had been hoarding, and some unusual bumpy yellows I'd found.

hello Kees from the Netherlands!! i am so glad you posted your picture because i know you have been looking for those yellow ovals for some time. you may remember that i have some red and black ones. and maybe 1 or 2 of the yellow ones in my keeper cabinet but i have never seen a strand of them with any of the traders i visit. as Joy said, you should go to the Bead Trades section and post a listing on the Wanted page.
Carlene
Hello Kees,
This is a necklace from my collection that I made in about 1982. In 1980 I made my first trip to the eastern US, with stops in New York and Boston. In Boston, I went to the Harvard campus museums, and at one of the gift stores I found this enameled Berber pendant. I combined it with some silver Berber coins I had previously bought from Liza Wataghani, and added some Venetian trade beads—including the plain wound yellow beads that more-or-less resemble amber—chosen because they have the same colors as the pendant (yellow, green, dark blue). Berbers love amber.
So there it is.

Nice job on that necklace, Jamey, the color and texture effect is very pleasing. I bought some really interesting and unusual things from Liza Wataghani a couple of months ago when she was in Salt Lake City. There is one type of bead in particular that I'd never seen before... she had to explain to me what it was. It was an "aha!" moment. I loved them so bought the dozen or so that she had! I should post it as a mystery bead game. I'll get my camera.
