My main goal was the colored beads. I have enough yellow jackets and made a necklace of them already. I know the price you paid was excellent. My commitment was not as strong as yours.... as usual
Sometimes I feel a little sheepish that I like beads most people DON'T consider very important, or desirable.
But this reminds me I've VERY LUCKY I like the "dregs"! :^D
Er....are you two still friends??
I placed the first bid and there was no activity all week. Then we both sniped our last moment bids. A few minutes before the end I thought to myself "I hope Wayne doesn't show up". Ha! There he was! No one else bid on this auction except the two of us. I rarely win when he is involved. We have never met. But I have lost numerous auctions to him.
I've been on a bead buying hiatus. This was my first attempted trade bead auction this year.
Yes, I collect other types of beads. But I have goals, and they can be difficult to meet... peacock millies, longitudinal canes, flat tabs, great examples of latticino, matched cane millie ovals and rounds, types of foil beads, odd and unusual beads seen only on old sample cards.... you know, the lively auctions where I get left behind.
Maybe a bit later in the year will be better. I made some good buys last year.
It's so hard to fall in love with something, then either more than I intended or lose it to someone with deeper pockets.
So now I try to avoid even looking at auctions. :^D I stick with the "Buy It Now".
SOMETIMES that works.....LOL
Haha! I'm totally kidding Joyce! It was great to see you with these beads in person in AZ.
Wonderful to see you too, Matt. Time too short. I love the Tucson shows, and now, even more than before, it's become the center of the bead world, at least for us in the western U.S.
