Well, as usual I found a bunch of interesting(?) things this year. I'll start out with a pair of pendants that I got for $1.50 each and a large Chinese Chevron that I purchased for $5.oo.

Next I have some older (approx. 20 year) Indonesian glass beads that I obtained for $1 each and some modern Ghana beads that I also purchased for $10.00. The second set is from a charity organization that uses the sale of these beads to support an orphanage in Ghana.

Here is a not quite completed necklace that I made from some glass tubular beads that I purchased for $4.50 and some green glass beads that I purchased for $2.00. Total: $6.50. The second is some sparkly blue glass that I paid $9.00 for.

Next is a strand of dyed blue stone that I got for $2.00 and some Cloisonne beads that I bought for $3.00. I'm pretty sure the stone is dyed because my fingers turned blue while I was stringing it.

Next up are some strands that I purchased at the Grant Road show. I believe they are from Indonesia but I am really not certain about that. The single strand was $10 and the double strand was $15.

I was lucky this year in that some friends who came to Tucson to purchase for their business finished up early. Thus I came into possession of some dealers passes that allowed me to enter the Gem Mall. Here is a Ghana strand that I purchased for $25. I wanted the tabular bead that was on this but I had also never seen a Vaseline bead like that before.

Love this strand too :)

The vaseline is a beauty. I have one, and only one, like that as well. Love the rounds next to it as well by the way!

Here are two more Ghana strands that I obtained at the Gem Mall. The first I picked just because I liked the way it looked. It was $25. The second was $40 and has a nice selection of Venetian beads plus one Akoso.

One last item from the Gem Mall. I encountered a dealer from New York who was looking to close out his business. He sold me this strand of Millifiore for $50.00

One last item for the budget section. After all, what is a trip to the Gem and Mineral show without some "pretty rocks"? These I purchased for a whopping $1.50 each!

So now for the not so budget items. First I have a Bodom bead and some repaired amber that I purchased from Thomas.

I used those beads along with some I obtained last year to put this group together. I think this will become one of my favorites. The center is Akoso, flanked by two bodoms, followed by the repaired amber.

I'd like to add a nice piece of repaired amber to my collection. The whole thought of the beauty remaining after damage, fixing and moving on into the next stage of life.

One last piece to show. This is a strand of old Krobo beads that I found. Also not a budget item.

The excitement of just being in Tucson for the Gem and Mineral Show: seeing the people -all the greats-
experiencing the rich and varied venues in good weather -what luck! Awesome souvenirs -all of them.

I am always keen to see your Tucson catch, and happy that you got some good stuff for your money. Congrats!
I can imagine that amidst all the beauty at extravagant prices,it feels great to find little gems at affordable prices. Enjoy!
