I think I found the "lost graveyard" of Chinese chevrons that didn't survive quality control.
These were being sold as decorator "accents" or 'worry stones' in the Crystal Cavern gift shop in Pa. Getting $1 ea for them too!

and run the shards through a tumbler, I can get maybe fifty cents a piece, wholesale?

Probably better than nothing.
