Beads:
A Reference and Price Guide
A Historical Jewelry Review and
Comprehensive Guide for
Identifying, Dating and Valuing Beads
Used in Jewelry and on Cultural Artifacts
with Prices....

An Invaluable Bead Identification Primer
for the Trade and Treasure Hunters
A useful, must-have resource for bead identification with price guides for the jewelry trade, appraisers, jewelry designers, artists, estate buyers, antique dealers, collectors, beaders, and novices. Photos, charts, guidelines, and valuable references aid in identifying unknown single beads, bead strands, and ancient and vintage beads seen in collections, online sales, garage sales, estate shows, and auctions. A sense of wonder should be felt by the reader upon learning that beads are not only the first form of jewelry, but they have been a cherished companion used by humankind throughout history into the present day.
This book is:

A reference book for the jewelry industry on “things you need to know about beads”

A reference book addressing factors that affect bead value

An important reference for appraisers and collectors of jewelry and
global artifacts, including tribal art

An examination of symbolism used in human adornment

A mind-expanding review of the significant role beads play in human adornment
This book offers:

Charts to help identify, date, and evaluate beads

Guidelines on how to recognize various bead types from different eras

Helpful hints to assist in recognizing bead reproductions

A simplified and condensed overview of beads throughout human history relative to other significant social, cultural, and technological advances
Sindi Schloss, GG (GIA), graduate gemologist, jewelry appraiser, jewelry historian, and operator of a school of gemology, has over thirty-five years of experience in valuation science, gemology, and teaching. Extensive world travel and involvement with a museum of beads and human adornment gave her a unique perspective and knowledge of global use of adornment throughout history. Her passion for the broad spectrum of jewelry shines within the pages of this book, as does her ability to condense, simplify, and present information in a fun and user friendly manner.

It's the most international bead event we have in the U.S. Amazing selection of beads AND Bead People! Every serious bead collector needs to get there at least once. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Instead of the annual BeadCollector.net dinner on the traditional first Monday night of the shows, everyone is invited, shoppers, vendors, legacy BCN dinner members, just Everyone is invited to visit the Grand Luxe on the evening of Monday 1/29, with special evening hours in the Ethnographic room, destined to be a focal social event! :)

Looking forward to meeting everyone on the evening of the 29th!

I will also be doing the Sonoran Glass Art show. This will be at the same location as the Tucson Bead Symposium, at the Sonoran Glass School. If you come early, you can watch beads and glass art from a variety of glass artists.
