The bidding began early for these. The most frantic bidder did not win. One of the long beads is broken. The metal has worn plating. Any ideas why this was so desirable, aside from being very attractive beads? Approx $320.00 USD final total price. Vintage Art Deco Amethyst Glass Bead Flapper Sautoir Dangle Necklace. It's something else to see how many active bids some of these people have...around 30 at the moment for the winning bidder. I simply can't afford to do that!

If the color is true, it's an unusual color for amethyst glass.

Most amethyst glass, especially vintage pieces, are more of a warm violet color, not very blue.

These look like a small group I found years ago, more of a rich purple color. I never found any more like them, and I was extremely reluctant to part with them.

I am no expert, just someone who appreciates the color, and these look wonderful.

...for a short moment... but my infatuation ended early when bids rose to $95.

Yes, a great color. I almost thought it could be stone until I saw a bubble.
