Hello all -- of course, Beadcollector went down right as the Greek financial crisis was starting to pick up. For a while, I was sure that Joyce and David had just up and left for Greece to go bead shopping! So I thought it would be fun to start a threat of Greek beads that have "Grexited" Greece themselves.

My first contributions are some Hellenistic "Ribbon Agate" or "Glass Agate" beads from 400 - 200 B.C.E., from the Eastern Mediterranean.

First of all thanks to Joyce and David for the hard work to keep BCN alive and kicking!! What a contrast with the complete lack of solidarity from most of the European leaders with the Greek people. It is so sad.

The picture shows gold, sard, rock crystal and blue glass beads from the Heraklion museum dating from 1400 to 1300 BC.
