Hi Kika, ~I have never seen anything like your bead. It reminds me of Tibetan mosaic coral. And I agree that the colors and lines do make it feel geographic. I imagine it was excavated and inlaid. ~Attached is a mostly Islamic Era collection. It is here again because you seem new to this forum and I want to reciprocate for generously sharing your unusual and attractive beads. ~Feel free to stop by anytime. I look forward to seeing you on BCN next Sunday. It's allowed! Just Fred

HI Fred,
Thanks for your answer.
I saw very often this site but my english is not very fluently, and I hesitated to write!!!
Your necklaces are absolutely gorgeous and you have some beads I have put on the site: the bead to the left of the big black bead in the first necklace. I don't know whether I have so many fabulous islamic beads!! I like to see beautiful beads on this site, and for me, it's very pleasant to see unusual beads. I need to see the beads of collectors. I love the work about these ancient beads, the technique, the dexterity., the history, the life and the long way from the bead-making to my hand! I find that absolutely fascinating!!...
this last bead is an islamic glass bead. I bought it unfortunately repaired but I have never seen an another like it. It seems with relief but I think it is only the wear of the different textures of glass.
My pics are only for eyes' pleasure and I like to debate to learn more!!

This large (23 x 22 mm) one looks slightly similar to yours -- although lacking the nice blue bands.

So, Kika's bead has extreme devitrification of the light colored glass…rather than mosaic inlays...I see it now. Thank you, Nishedha and Kika. Just Fred

Your bead has nice red bands! but it's the same design. Mine is more worn than yours. It is really very wonderful
