I think it was me who challenged you about the whole strand. I DO hope you are buying food!!! I'm drinking Ensure, eating peanut butter sandwiches and bananas, and buying beads. More pics, more pics!! Steve

These types unfortunately don't come around here too often and when they do, they are priced pretty much out of the market :(
I love them for their history, also they appear to be the inspirations of many types of Murakad/Kiffa beads. Nice group of Morfias, I can't wait for the whole strand!!!

THanks so much, Thomas! Sad, to say this bead has become very rare and cost prohibitive. I am very fortunate in that I have some trader friends that promise to sell me any morfia that they find at an agreed price! These men are good friends of mine and they are doing this for me out of friendship!Fortunately, friendship is still highly regarded in Africa! My friend that found these four beads knew the man that has had them for years. He just agreed to sell them just before I left Africa! Yes, they were expensive! But, I know that I would have paid twice the price if, anyone else had had them. The proof is that I saw two other men with Morfia. The price they asked scared even me. My husband told me "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING THEM!!!!!

Your husband sounds like a saint to put up with your bead fetish. I don't have the valuable beads that you do, but Stephen would never understood my buying them, even if I could afford them. When I read that you'd take him along if you wore your morfia beads, I thought it would be for protection! (grin)

Your comment still has me laughing! I'd take my husband along just to have an extra neck to show off my beads! ( I'm terrible) My husband did not always go along with my buying beads. I had to prove to him that it was a good investment by selling some of my beads and designing necklaces! Fortunately, I did well enough for him to see that they are just not trinkets but, valuable heirlooms! I have recently reached the limit of my bead buying budget!! I will not buy any more unless something so wonderful comes along that I can't resist! Lets hope that that won't happen soon!!!!!

Hi Christine, an incredibly successful trip with these 4 beads alone! I am in AWE! Try to leave 'one' Morphia out there for me to find,...please?
Just incredible! If your husband gets too tired carrying them around, please let me know. I'll be glad to take the weight off his shoulders.
It's the least I can do!
Jeff
