Crumb / End-of-Day Age & Origin?

I'm organizing several years' worth of purchases from a number of Traders, and coming up with lots of types I can't figure out.

Both strands are from reliable Traders who say they are not African-made, but they look too new to be European, unless late period Murano. They do resemble the more usual tabular Murano bead, but are cruder. The rounds have a crazed, scuffed surface over black core, and break easily. The flat-ends have a blue core and show no wear.

To me it seems you have a mix here. The cilindrical ones appear to be furnace would beads made in India. Some of the round ones are indeed Venetian. Some of the round ones look like they could be either Venetian or Indian, and it's hard to tell from these pictures.

The 4 matching beads with the raised yellow crumbs in the upper right are antique Venetian. This bead appears on Sick Co. sample card #14, as bead #1674, dated 1910 - 1913. Of course many beads were made continuously for decades so your bead may be newer. This bead is not particularly rare and appears for sale, often in strands, now & then.

I think there was a BCN thread on crumb beads a while back so you may find more examples like yours. I have a whole strand of them.

I believe the rest are from India, 1980s or more recent.

Rosanna,

Not sure what you're referring to - my original posting? There is a whole strand of cylinders & I sent you examples (I think?) along with the colored plastic "ambers". I know the ones in the picture with raised yellow bumps are Venetian, but I'm assuming both the round and barrel with multicolor inclusions are of the same origin - the consensus was India?

Sorry, that was not very clear

I was focused on the large cylinders at the end of the strand - see photo. The eight beads I've circled are Venetian.

The rest are Indian, and i didn't notice that many of the small Indian ones were cylinders as well.
