...starting making and showing her pieces with crosses, I had thought I'd like to have one of those Ethiopian coptic crosses...there are so many from which to pick. What made me think of doing this is that I had to have one of those ebony and metal pieces that is a rather odd shape, but makes me think of that place where a rosary has the cross hanging. And, I have a strand of those newer red, black and white chevrons.
I know...Fred's thinking I'm just a copy cat. But, it's true that those crosses have been on my watch list.
I'd maybe choose Rosanna, as I like how she uses leather to make her pieces and they look so polished. Or, Jake...I mean is there anything he can't string up and make look like a million bucks. Though, he doesn't like me and once hung up the phone on me. I can still admire his work.
to use to make my rosary like piece that I've imagined having one day. And I was thinking of using two tire like beads that I have above and below the ebony wood piece. Those with the black base and red and white squiggle lines.
I just wish I could make what I see in my head happen. My skills with leather are rudimentary. I actually have trouble with those stupid knots on just a simple leather pendant. I'll make one great and then when doing the other side ...I'm like...how did I do that.
I guess that's what knowing your own strengths and weaknesses. I have been able to do a simple knotted necklace, like the ones you use to make between pearls and have been pleased with my outcome. I did take one class at a beading store for that. Though, now I'd have to sit and think about it for a bit.
Nishedha. Didn't even have to think about it. Sorry, everybody else. Just my personal taste.
