I went rummaging through the Sick Collection CD to try to find these. There were several similar beads starting at about #14026 (same design, different colors), and orange began to appear in the 16000s (card #162, Bead #16836 in an olive shape) - cards in these numbers are dated to the late 1920s - 1930s.

Guessing it's Moretti glass and molded murrine - curiously, the lampworker had added an orange dot atop some of the murrine. The stripes appear to be a dark brown edged with white.

Has anyone else encountered this particular combination of chartreuse yellow green and bright orange?

"Retina Fryers" or "Strikingly Attractive" - what's your vote? They kind of resemble succotash, don't they?

No...no...I won't request pics - last time we did that a disaster happened, if I recall correctly.

I saw Thomas's remarkable Venetian millefiori collection!! It is the most amazing and extensive collection that I have viewed in person and, I did not see all of it ! He has several strands of unusual colors, in theses beads!

I love these, and the bright colors are so modern. I also like the pitting and even what looks like slight texturing around the pits. These don't look like chips or damage--bubbles???

What's neat is I use the same kind of textured 'holes' in my artifacts. Though they are a tasteful neutral.... ;^D

I have a medium sized strand of these and I wear them. I started with about five I bought on ebay then added more one at a time. I'd buy a whole strand on raffia just to get one of these. I call them my Happy Beads. I am always looking for more of this exact kind, so I can make a longer piece for myself.

What accent beads did you string them with? Yellow? Chartreuse? Gold?

I wish I could afford some African gold pieces to go with these...

I would use black, and let those colors shine.

Black and some texture… and a pop of the green

I don't have as many as you do, but I made it work by spacing them with a variety of bead shapes and textures. I threw in the green czech flower beads for a little color pop.

Dug out some Tierracast actual-gold plated beads I've been hoarding.

After the first try, I noticed when photoing that I'd put two spacing beads in one place, decided I rather liked the look, so re-strung the thing with doubled up beads.

Not sure which version I like best, maybe I'll do Try #3 later...

Really like what you did, especially the second one. Adds a classy look to these edgy orange beads. So nice!
