Hi,
You can use the advanced search function on eBay to search for "sold listings". I suggest starting with the term "millefiori trade beads". I tried it just now and got over 680 sold items that you can scan through to get an idea of what your beads are worth.
If you have any flat, tabular-shaped millefiori beads, or rounds, they will be worth more than the common cylindrical variety.
Anything you'd like comments on - please post! And note that you have to reduce your pix to 256k or less. You may have to use a reduction program to do this. If you use a Mac, this is easy to do by loading into iPhoto, then exporting the pic as Medium size and Medium quality. I don't know the best way to do this with Windows.
Some Venetian millefiori beads are highly desirable and will fetch respectable sums at auction. Many others are just ordinary and plentiful and won't attract much interest. Condition is very important. The whims of collectors can be difficult to predict. Certain colors and canes are less common than others. As Rosanna mentioned, rounds, ovals and tabs are worth more than cylinders.
The prices are down from a few years ago, but the beads still sell and are popular with certain buyers.
Also should mention - very large and very small millefiori beads often fetch a premium price.
I want to THANK the 3 of you so much for your responses! I will try that with ebay - to see the past. What I was looking at - the current - was not too helpful.
For history sake it will be fun for you all to see those beads - and I will do pictures and I appreciate your comment to let me know the size of the picture I can post. However, it will be at least a few days before I do that.
For bead lovers, there are other beads - a good bit of amber - and I will eventually get those photographed for you.
More later...
I apologize for not getting a photo yet. I will eventually be able to do so.
