I unclear what you are saying... did you make the two necklaces? I see a nice trail decorated Venetian bead and some inlaid black coral prayer beads. What are your plans?

To be clear, I purchased two almost identical necklaces in a store, which is the necklace on the right with the Italian horn(?) pendant. The pendants were the only thing that were slightly different. I liked them well enough as they were inexpensive and I thought I could perhaps use the body of the necklace one day to make a necklace of my own with different focal beads. So, I took apart one of them and reconstructed it with the Venetian and the coral prayer beads as I thought they complemented one another well. In a sense the first photo is in a way the after/before and still is photo. I found my inspiration from the creator of the original necklace and by buying two I still felt like I was honoring their design by keeping one intact. I know this isn't fascinating and only explained as you had asked, not that I think everyone will find it interesting. As for my plans...lol...to one day have all my purchased focal beads in place as focal beads. And, to have worn them all at least once. I know...great aspirations.

I like your version better. I see now, you replaced 3 of the larger beads and a few smaller beads. Looks good. Sure, I do that all the time. I buy my filler beads at thrift stores to use with the more expensive beads I buy elsewhere. Small accent beads can be hard to find when you need them so I try to have an assortment available in my stash. I know, it can take some time to string one's beads into a wearable piece. I have some necklaces years in process. It's good to wear them once in awhile.

I think that your version is a natural build on a nice solid basis that the original necklace had. The Venetian fancy bead is totally "supported" by the beads it sits with and you have successfully done an upscale on a good simple design. I also have hopes for my bead pile. Problems like not enough free time get in the way of my continuity with my beads! Of course, the hope is to assign all the "best" and favorites to successful, wearable necklaces, and to somehow, eventually, move along all the rest!

After I purchased this large (66 grams) Asante pendant, I felt unable to design a necklace for it -- a serious matter, because it WAS expensive.
While it was hanging idle from a nail on the wall for a couple of years, I couldn't help but to feel angry at myself for buying it.
Then, a few weeks ago I saw and got that vulcanite discs strand and my sky was cloudless again...
I like it, and would wear it too.

Nishedha, at the risk of sounding rude, you are so good at design, you are a freak of nature!!!! My hat is off to you!

Do you find that stacked, thin discs like these tend to catch long hair and thereby become uncomfortable when worn? The pendant is gorgeous, and well worth the wait for the perfect composition.

I can only find three alternatives:
either
1.- Suffer the uncomfort.
2.- Do not wear them.
or
3.- Cut your hair.

...wear your hair up. It is a regal piece, after all.

...though probably the least desirable. Shave your head. Of course this can be a regal look as well.
