olive wood that i know is darker denser and more variegated,
your wood beads appear to me to be maybe beech- and the shapes, particularly the floral shaped slices are typical products from the Schowanek factory that made toys and beads in germany- even children's wooden building bricks-
but its nice to have a good quantity of matching beads to use for your designs.
good luck
As it happens, I just got hold of some olive wood today and I see what you mean. Different stuff entirely.
Thank you for the tip re. Germany. I'll look into it.
I love the beads and find I want to keep them together - but perhaps add some silver spacers.
Cheers!
Linda
Got these last month in Funchal, Madeira. 10mm saucers - the only bead purchase for this port of call on my cruise to Europe.
Stay tuned for more bead adventure news as I get unpacked and document my trip!
