Speaking of wearing things, clean-up or leave as-is?

I have a set of five very old African lion's claw pendants that I wanted to make into a necklace. Should I leave them as-is in their original "gnarly" condition (first pic), or clean them up as in the example below (second pic). In the past when I have offered such pendants for sale, most people preferred them cleaned up, I am not so sure myself?

Thanks, Jan

Personally I like things that have a look and feel of age. Cleaning items up like that for me, makes them less desirable.

I prefer patina and signs of age, myself.
But which do YOU prefer? That's what counts!
