Hello to all, especially some of our European bead specialists. what would we call this type of bead? It obviously has some lapidary type work after the initial construction. Is it opalescent, is that a good term. Is it Bohemian, or ?

I know this type has been discussed in the past but I cannot find it. This one is only 7 inches long, I have a few more even larger still.

Thanks,

Jan

I think this is the same type of bead, without the middle part of yours and just 3.5 inch long. Mine is eight-sided. The effects with light are the same as on the "moon-beads", white blueish, like ice, with light from above and with a touch of orange if backlighted.
And yes, I think its Bohemian, but I too donīt know, how to call it.
By the way: I still miss Stevens/Claudian beautiful moon bead images...

I tried to research one of those x-large beads recently. I didn't find much info. I too believe Bohemian or Czech.

What use would they be? Bell pulls and lamp pulls maybe? They seem too large to wear.

Now that makes sense, maybe a pull cord for lamp or bell, possible doorway?
