Check a few eBay auctions for "spindle whorls", for comparison, such as 251641895707.
It would also be helpful if you gave an exact measurement for diameter and hole size, plus a good closeup of one of them. Do you ha ve any information about where and when they were acquired? By catgut do you mean thin nylon fishing line?
You are correct sir! Thank you very much for the identification! And I'm not sure if this is banned here, if so I am very sorry, but they are up[ for grabs...by catgut, I mean, catgut, defined: Catgut is a type of cord that is prepared from the natural fibre found in the walls of animal intestines. Usually sheep or goat intestines are used...bead folk should know that one I think..
Sorry for the confusion - I have heard people refer to synthetic cords as "catgut" since the newer versions were meant to replace the original natural materials - personally I don't think I have ever seen real catgut and so would hesitate to identify it.
Also - you can post items for sale on the Classified page of this forum - I think you have to register separately for it.
Some sharper images and exact measurements would help your ad.
Good luck!
And where I got a hold of them--so sweet--2.99 at the goodwill...
