Yellow Melons - Chinese, Czech, Venetian, or ?

This topic was discussed in July, but I thought I'd give it another whirl-

The yellow melon beads pictured here were advertised as 18th century Chinese.

Follow-on posts show a bead advertised as Czech in origin.

For comparison, the last set of images is a bead from my collection which seems to be similar to the "Czech" one. The bead was a gift from a BCN acquaintance from Taiwan, but I don't recall asking where he got the bead.

A conjecture of mine is that the Chinese made the original versions, which were then copied by Europeans, wither Czech or Venetian. Or, could it have been the other way around? Two versions of this basic bead appear on the early 20th century Conterie card image #32 (link to the images is on the Articles page). Both seem more "regular" in shape than the images I'm posting here.

Any ideas out there?

I think it is one of those beads that has been made for a long time and in different locations and can be any of those. Here are some that I had

They were purchases as a lot with other Venetian beads some of which were on original hanks. As these were uncirculated and with a collection of other uncirculated Venetian beads my assumption was that they are also Venetian.
I always believed that the Chinese ones were the oldest and tended to have a more orange tint and the brighter more yellow ones Czech or Venetian but I have no concrete information to back that up just an opinion.

I have not seen these in the Czech Republic, not as beads, and not on any sample cards including those in the museum. Does not mean they were not made there, as they are a fairly simple bead to make. However, Czech would not be my first guess, no matter which shade of yellow.

These are collected in 2005. Made in East Java in that period (and later)
