Many thanks - a few threads tell a great deal. This is a bead knitted purse, and a lovely one too, but bead knitting is very unlikely indeed to be of native american manufacture (I will drop a message through to our NA beadwork expert and see if he will take a look, and give us definitive answer). Many bags (purses) and purses (wallets) in Europe and the Balkans at this period had soft leather interiors, so of itself, this wouldn't be an indication.

This little purse looks to have stylised NA-like decoration too, and a soft doeskin leather interior, but it is European, possibly Balkan.
