Frustrating when a Museum ignores input on an object..they could have at least put a sub-comment. Yes Spindle Whorls are balanced, for sure.
I see your and Jamey's comments about the Lace tablecloth weights. Never would have guessed although I have seen netting/lace weighted with beads, tossed over drinks or a Pitcher to keep flies out..Cool that they weigh Lace Tablecloths down also..(how pretty the World used to be...at least in some Parlors lol). They still evidently use the tablecloth weights, especially for outdoor Picnics but not as lovely as yours! Those really are very nice! Great Find!
