Hello Jamey
Do you have examples of agates, that were chemically colored, but not yet drilled??
Was there a particular type of agate used for coloration?? Meaning, a banded agate, a carnelian agate, or ??
Were some agates better at taking the chemicals used for coloration??

I will post some pictures of some different agate rough from Montana that shows banding in the oxidized skin of the nodule and on the inside it is totally clear??
I am trying to understand which agates were good for chemical coloring.
Some from Oregon, carnelian skins on the nodules and colorless inside??

from Walter
