Great material,such research has been done so extensively is really great.
Are you familiar by chance of the carnelian from Sweet Home Oregon??
I will dig around my boxes when time permits and look for some.
As I mentioned it has a deep red orange skin, put a light to it and it has a great glow. But when sliced with a diamond saw, it is a slightly milky/almost clear and some is clear.
They usually show some banding on the oxidized skin but not inside.
