I have an small brown clay figure, I think just a head--he's still packed up somewhere (don't judge!) that sort of reminds me of your little figurine. Just something about the face, eyes, style, etc.

He was given to me in the late 70's, by a friend who got him at a store in Ann Arbor, MI that specialized in ancient artifacts, a private collection from South America.

Of course, that is not proof, nor provenance, and doesn't really mean anything. Just that it may be at least 50 years old.
