Many years ago I got this interesting (?) bead from a reliable Yemen antiquities -- not just beads -- seller. It is perforated longitudinally, perhaps to secure it as bezel in a finger ring. Clearly done to look like a banded agate piece, it is made of a white and black glass, the black a little translucid at the edges, showing the dark brownish paste. Two animals (antelops?) are pictured on it, and what looks like a grid or a ladder in between them. Its size: 23 mm x 17,5 mm x 5,8 mm. Any comments welcome.
