This photo shows four specimens of Venetian millefiori beads from West Africa featuring composite cane patterns. Three and four are very unusual, in having a spiral and star-&-crescent-moon patterns (respectively).

More beads with composite cane patterns. Number two is unusual for having a speckled design that I can only compare to something like a checker (or "chequer") design from antiquity---though it is rather more random or imprecise.
