Original Message:   That's surprising!
I don't have these issues at all.

I have already remarked that the accurate file ending for a Jpeg file is ".jpg" And that using "Jpeg" is THE NAME of the file type.

For example, if I wanted to post a Photoshop file (which I wouldn't because it is way too big) I would use ".psd"as the file ending. I would not use ".photoshop"

This would be the same problem.

You remark, "Most current software exports images with the .jpeg extension." I don't know, but perhaps you do, that this is accurate. I create virtually all of the Jpegs I post, myself--and I always use the ".jpg" ending--and I don't have this issue.

My impression has been that using "jpeg" as file ending is a mistake, even though it may be accepted by some browsers or platforms.

So I would never use ".jpeg"

The issue I remarked upon is something else entirely. It is about posting a temporary link, versus actually posting am image that will persist.
