Is this possibly a kiffa bead?

This puzzles me for a while now. Size is: 16mm long, 10mm wide and 8mm thick. It came from Mali some ten years ago. The damaged part of the bead reveals the inside that has a brown color and looks like clay(in real life, not in the picture) to me.

it doesnt look like a Kiffa so much as a genuine old bead that may have been patched where there was some damage..

I was able to clean the side that wasn´t damaged and then it was obvious.

What a beut! Not a Kiffa, looks to me like the brown is an attempt to repair/cover the damage?
