Hello All;

A few weeks ago we had a break in the weather. The temperature rose above freezing, the wind died down. So I took a box of beads outside and took five photographs of mixed Venetian beads from the African trade. These bead are from the late 1800's to the early 1900's.

the beads in the second row from the inside are the Venetian copies of Morfia beads from Old Cairo, Fustat......always hard to find and something I really like to see, thanks

the 5 beads on the left side are Venetian and the 4 beads on the right are Morfia, I will let the picture do the explaining.....having studied Kiffa beads for several decades now and finding the similarities between them and many of the ancient Islamic types (Morfia being a biggie) I have developed an eye for seeing the similarities that may go unnoticed by someone not quite as anal as myself, I hope you see what I see :)
