When you think of the labor and skill involved and the fact that nobody can reproduce them as well or as beautiful, they still evoke strong emotions when I see them

I almost forgot to mention this but sections of Broadway and Congress Street in the downtown area of Tucson are closed due to construction on the Modern Streetcar Project. If you have to pass through the downtown area during your stay be sure to give yourself plenty of time to be detoured, redirected, and lost.

the article points out the history of the beads, (in a nutshell) and their makers demise, I am assuming the author used this term (one I don't care for BTW) to show the loss of the art and craft of the Kiffa

Lovely beads and cover, Thomas!
Yes, the "fall from grace" is an interesting choice. The beads themselves have not fallen from grace at all - they become more desirable each passing year. It's unfortunate that the skill was not passed down - the new versions clearly show this loss.

Just to mention once more that using the Google images search is very effective when searching beads on bcn, giving faster results than our own search feature, as the site is so large now.
