...to hear from this event first from you...I didnīt knew about...But even more bad is, that I have to work the whole weekend, from Friday to Sunday evening. We have a lot of problems at work since months - colleagues I was working with for many years are gone, others came and we need to speak about our teamwork and our conception of this work badly. I was the one, who said first and was fighting for, that we will need more than just one day to find back to a good work, and as there are 8 people involved it will not be possible for me to change this date...sigh...Please, Floor, write to me private, how long you will stay and if there will be a chance to meet you...I know a nice Pakistani restaurant....

Oh I'm going to be away on that weekend! I can't believe I'm going to miss another bead event! Can't wait for your report!

Guy & J-Me will be going to the Perlen Posie Bead Faire. It was fantastic last year. hope we all have a great time this year. J-ME will be teaching a beading class on friday. We are so excited to be in Europe again.

Friday is my chance to see a bit of Hamburg, and the weekend I'll be browsing the show, probably catching up with J-ME and Guy and joining a workshop.
And yes, I will be happy to take pictures and show them.
I do not think Uwe will be able to make it to the show.
It seems to be geared mostly to beadworking, and not so much about collectibles. But, with Wild Things beads there, there surely will be cool vintage and new Czech and other beads to enjoy.

its not the first bead fair in Europe, of course.
The Bead Society of Great Britain has an important and wonderful fair every year around the first weekend in October in the greater London area, and there are now many commercial fairs around the UK through the years.

a few years ago i attended a fair in the east of france bordering belgium, a town with a glass-making history, (but i cant recall the name at this minute) which was organised for artist glass beadmakers and included handmade beads and also supplies of embroidery beads- great stuff there including original beads!
i've also attended a bead selling fair in Budapest, Hungary, quite a few years ago-
but would like to see what they sell and support the event-

Second, I did say 'continental Europe', because I knew about the British ones. Did not know about the ones you mention. I did go to the bead and button festival in Briare, France, but it was a lot smaller than the British and German ones.
I believe it was the Perlen Poesie fair in Hamburg itself that made this statement in their announcements last year. Guess you can never believe the advertising ;-)

and also publicity is not very efficiently spread around!

i find i just cant manage saturday in hamburg this time.

but for anyone at BCN who plans to visit London however i do have a nice guest room where bead friends might like to stay for a night and i always enjoy talking beads... and showing...

and with sufficient notice i am now free to travel to more bead events than before, when my mother was still alive.

Our BSGB Fair at the Horniman Museum in 1990 was the very first Bead Fair in Europe devoted entirely to beads and beadwork. And this year we are organising our 23rd consecutive fair!!!
If in Europe, also come to this one. It's the biggest and best in Europe (non-profit making) and in London 2012!!!!
