Hello Lee,

Your bead is consistent with ancient ancient types, probably made in India for the Middle East and Central Asia, dating between Achaemenid and Roman times (ca. 500 BCE to CE 200). It does not look like a new bead.

Being new in collecting natural or treated agate beads your opinions are most appreciated.

This agate bead has beautiful weathering marks not captured in these images that appears natural when viewed under microscope.
