Here is the pic in the proper format for display. Reminder - use .jpg format instead of .jpeg. I have no idea why, but the BCN platform software is from a previous era...

Gorgeous red Zens, Rosanna! Quoting a Google search:
“JPGs and JPEGs are the same file format. JPG and JPEG both stand for Joint Photographic Experts Group and are both raster image file types. The only reason JPG is three characters long as opposed to four is that early versions of Windows required a three-letter extension for file names” I didn’t even realize “jpeg “ was a thing until recently! Yes, BCN made it to our 20th anniversary this past May 2! That’s an incredible run for the treacherous internet world. Thank you all for being a part of it! Since I only have a tablet anymore, I am not able to even edit images for BCN anymore. And Facebook does all editing for the poster, so most FB folks don’t even know how to edit a photo file anymore. But the convenience of posting, as well as the great iPhone cameras have won. But the FB format is of the moment entirety. Unless I remember who made a post, I can’t find it again. I will always love our incredible searchable archive. You can search here on BCN going back thousands of days. Or, you can use Google for a more “shallow” search. For example:
Chevron beads, site beadcollector.net I suggest that everyone copy and save favorite posts and photos, sooner rather than later. BCN has been here for 20 years; inevitably it won’t make it another 20. Love to all, wishes for the best possible 2023!

Thank you for so many memories, and the chance to meet so many wonderful people on this forum. Joyce and LuAnn, my girls have your contact info to offer you any beads they don't cherish. After my faceplant on the sidewalk on Christmas morning, you just never know. ha. I hope everyone is well, enjoying life and collecting beads. My life is richer thanks to so many of you.

Logan so sorry to hear about your accident, hope you are healing and on your way to "back to normal" (whatever that is anymore!)
Somewhere I've been saving broken beads for you, so hang in there til I have enough to send them to you!

"Jpeg" is the name of the imaging format. The ending of such a formatted image is "jpg." Files ought to end with ".jpg"—though some platforms will accept "jpeg." To make a comparison, I work in Photoshop nearly daily. All of my Photoshop documents end with ".psd." That is the Photoshop ending. One would not call a document, "xxxxx.photoshop." that would be silly. It's the same thing with Jpegs.

The BCN software does not seem to "like" the 4 letter .jpeg extension, and although the image can be seen if clicked on. Sorry I thought it was obvious what I was referring to. I upgraded my Mac OS and now the Photos program exports images with .jpeg instead of .jpg extensions. So I have to manually edit the file name extension before uploading to BCN. Not 100% sure if this will work for everyone...

Following Rosanne also for all BCN members a happy Christmas and a peaceful 2023 and then here a strand of beads that I bought this year. Immediately the question: I think wedding cake beads? No idea how old? Can anyone give more information? Thanks, Nel

I'm sorry about the large format photos. A new laptop and Windows 11 that takes some getting used to! Nel

These do have congruency to beads from India. And they have nearly nothing in-common with wedding cake beads. As always, it is usually helpful to have some idea of the sizes—and anything you can observe that might not be obvious from your photo. JDA.

Thank you Stefany and Jamey for your comment. I think you are right (by the way, I do not have so much experience with wedding cake beads). I tried to find more information about this necklace but up to now I failed. Nel

How nice of you Rosanne! I just took a look at the forum and see that you have reduced my photos to a clearer size. I’m in the middle of a severe flu attack, so no action to do anything with my photos. Nel

I have been lurking this past year and I agree with Rosanna, we should keep BCN alive. Other bead platforms are a great addition, but to me -old school I guess- they are very furtive. I enjoy the depth and length of the BCN comments and am thankful for the patience of the repliers.
I missed the Amsterdam bead/textile show but was lucky to visit Hendrik and his collection. I came home with some great beads, mainly from Burma: amber, rock crystal, ancient agates, folded glass bead and silver flower money.

Last January a new shop with tribal items (Otto 1) opened in my hometown Gent and occasionally some beads are for sale. I bought this beautiful Ndebele apron with some amazing blue beads, and this classic Venetian necklace.

My latest buy: some scorzalite beads which my friend Karen bought in Mauritania some 20+ years ago. The blue is unequivalent. I was lucky to buy this abstract dragon claw in Jade from the Hongshan culture (China Mongolia 4700-2900 BC). A great way to end this year.
Wish you all a fantastic start in 2023 and may BCN be alive and kicking.
